Seasonal Golf Camps
The spring, summer, and winter golf camp program is a unique experience designed to improve each camper’s golf game while providing academic support through the Tutor Tent. Campers focus on building skills in chipping, putting, and full swing, and also play a round of golf on the Par-3, gaining confidence and a well-rounded foundation in both academics and sports. This integrated approach ensures that participants grow both on the course and in the classroom, setting them up for long-term success.

After School Golf
The After School Program runs Monday through Friday and focuses on developing young golfers through structured drills, games, and course play. Participants receive two hours of golf practice daily at facilities like Rancho Park Golf Course and Penmar Golf Course. By concentrating on both technique and course experience, the program ensures that participants continuously improve their game and enjoy a positive, supportive environment.

Outreach Events
Our outreach events bring the game of golf to indoor and outdoor spaces such as gymnasiums and baseball fields, offering 50 to 100 children the chance to learn golf basics in a fun and engaging environment. In addition to golf training, participants are introduced to music (piano, guitar, drums, djembe), chess, and STEM activities. This diverse combination fosters creativity, strategic thinking, and hands-on learning, contributing to well-rounded growth in both sports and other skill sets.

23% Initiative
The 23% Initiative aims to prepare underserved youth in California for the projected demand in tech jobs over the next decade. By offering academic tutoring, counseling, and community support, APF is committed to helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their potential. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between education and opportunity, creating pathways to socioeconomic independence for minority students, and setting a goal to fill 23% of California’s future tech positions.

Back in January 2018, Derrick provided an indoor golf clinic that was facilitated to 72 Boys & Girls Club members.
